Organise This is BS8901 compliant (standard due to launch autumn 2007)
Organise This Limited adheres to a strict sustainability policy both in the workplace and in all aspects of event management. Clients are actively encouraged, at no extra cost, to take several simple steps to ensure their event is carried out in such a way as to be as environmentally-friendly as possible. We do ask all clients to consider incorporating these Phase I ethics into their event.

The Phase 2 policy is an extension of Phase I. Phase 2 may incur additional costs  to increase the level of sustainability.  Any questions or feedback on these policies should be addressed to info@organisethis.co.uk

Organise This Sustainability Policy Phase I

  • Educate venue on sustainability
  • Ensure room set up to be as sustainable as possible
  • Organise the event using environmentally friendly ways of communication (email/website)
  • Inform attendees of public transport routes
  • Consider how exhibition material could be reused/recycled
  • Recycle aluminum cans, glass and plastic bottles
  • Cut down on unnecessary packaging
  • Implement a sustainable procurement strategy
  • Use recyclable plastic cups

Organise This Sustainability Policy Phase 2 (Potential additional costs)

  • Source an environmentally friendly venue
  • Source organic, local and fair trade produce caterers
  • Arrange attendee car pooling
  • Offset carbon dioxide emissions created by the event
  • Include a community involvement project as part of the event

There are also many ways in which Organise This aims to be environmentally-friendly in the workplace. A few of these are listed below

Organise This Internal Ways of Working

  • Use recycled, chlorine free paper
  • Only print when necessary
  • Photocopy on double sided paper
  • Do not print emails
  • Fax on used paper
  • Print drafts on used paper
  • Make note pads from scrap paper
  • Company directors responsible for environmental policy
  • Staff is given time, support and resource to review environmental trends, market pressures, public and political attitudes
  • Staff is encouraged to contribute recommendations for the environmental policy
  • Staff is given time, money and facilities to participate in voluntary environmental/community activities outside and within working hours
  • Spell check pre printing to avoid mistakes and re-printing
  • Use a smaller font size so less printing is required
  • Recycle printer cartridges, mobile phones and computer equipment
  • Use public transport when possible
  • Car pool when possible
  • Turn off computers, equipment and lights when not in use
  • Only fill kettles for required amount
  • Seek specific environmental advice from third parties
  • Environmental policy made available to all clients
  • Clients are given the chance to adhere to an environmental policy with no additional expense or event style change OR a second phase policy which could incur small changes in event style and/or cost to increase the environmental friendly nature of event.
  • Open to creating links and working groups with similar community/environmentally minded businesses
  • Organise This researches supplier environmental policy and aim to work with the most environmentally aware/community involved suppliers
  • Organise This quarterly newsletter often includes ideas, hints and tips on how to hold environmentally friendly events
  • Organise This newsletter is sent out electronically rather than in paper format
  • Organise This is a committed to the ethos that every working project will benefit the community or environment whether the client has this objective or not. For example with every project a small community project will be arranged by Organise This.
